Introduction

What is Giant Freshwater Prawn?

The giant Freshwater prawn commonly
known as “Ulang” in Tagalog and Udang
in Ilocano, Kising-kising in Pangasinan,
Pasayan, paje and swahe in other places.
They can be substituted for lobster and tiger prawn
because of their appearance and excellent taste.

This species can be migrate up to 200 km from the sea. Move upstream from their spawning ground towards rivers and lakes where they grow to a maximum size of more than 1 kilogram per piece.
